“SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER” BRINGS THE UK AND RUSSIA TOGETHER!

At a Central London studio late on a Saturday night, Russian mega-star Valeriya (sold 100m records in her homeland) and the legendary Robin Gibb (Bee Gees) recorded a red-hot version of the world-wide hit “Stayin’Alive”. For the first time in the history of pop-music it features a leading female vocal immaculately combined with Gibb’s bespoke falsetto.

Valeriya was extremely excited in getting the ball rolling with such a momentous collaboration. “Paying tribute to the 30th anniversary of the iconic film and album “Saturday Night Fever” (December 1977) we decided it would be a splendid idea to record a cover of this great song!”

Valeriya had originally recorded her own version of the song and sent the CD with a letter as a greeting to both Gibb brothers and John Travolta. Robin was immediately very enthusiastic about it and agreed to meet with Valeriya to talk about a duet:

"I heard Valeriya singing the song 5-6 weeks ago. As soon as I heard it I got very interested at the prospect of recording the song with her, and that's why I'm here. It’s not a complex story, it’s just something that you hear, you like it and you want to do it. I was attracted by the tonality of Valeriya’s voice which matched the track perfectly.”

Valeriya’s new album “Out of Control” is to be released in Russia and the UK in early summer which will feature this collaboration.

Robin Gibb does not sing falsetto - his brother Barry does.
